Empathy and Support: Dr. Adutwum donates GH120K to Bluelight Fire victims, meets Regional Minister

Former Minister for Education and Member of Parliament (MP) for Bosomtwe Constituency, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum early Thursday morning visited the Bluelight Market arena which was recently destroyed by a dawn inferno.
Accompanied by NPP officials including Subin and Bosomtwe Constituency executives as well as a former NUGS President, Daniel Oppong Kyeremeh, Dr. Adutwum toured the burnt site.
The former Education Minister also interacted with some of the traders who had mounted tents and parasols to display some wares at the area.
Attracting loud cheers while touring the area, Dr. Adutwum took time to console the traders including some yam sellers who had displayed some of their left over stocks on the streets.

Addressing a gathering of traders under the Adum footbridge close to the Bluelight Market, Dr. Adutwum expressed sadness at the extent of devastation.
He noted that he had seen the videos of the fire outbreak about two weeks ago but conceded that he found the issue grievous than how he initially felt about same.
The former Minister who recalled how God showed him mercy to rise to his present standing in life, encouraged the victims of the fire to have hope in God.
“I am very sad seeing what I see now even though I had gotten the opportunity to see videos of same but to assuage your misery which is mine too I present to you GHC 100, 000.00 and extra 20, 000 for 200 bags of cement to aid in your reconstruction efforts when Otumfuo and the KMA gives you the green light”, Dr. Adutwum stated.
Meeting with Regional Minister:
Around 11:30am, Dr Adutwum met the Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene at the latter’s office.
The former Education Minister said the visit was to officially welcome Dr. Amoakohene as he officially commences work as administrative head of the Ashanti Region.
Dr Adutwum informed the Regional Minister his intention to do a presentation about the educational initiatives which could be considered and continued for the benefit of the people of Ashanti.
“I am sure that there will be several Education and other developmental initiatives I started while in government that would be worthy to be considered by your humble self so that you can lobby for governmental support to continue and complete same for the benefit of our people”, Dr. Adutwum posited.
Regional Minister:
On his part, Dr. Amoakohene thanked the former Education Minister for the visit.
He revealed that he and Dr. Adutwum shared same faith and denomination, adding that both have the interest of the region and the nation at heart.
Dr. Amoakohene also noted his readiness to receive both the documentation of the educational initiatives as well as the presentation the former Minister plans to undertake for them to know what was needed to be done.
“I am happy seeing my boss here today and the decision to visit me fills me with humility as both of us plan to do our best with the opportunity we have in leadership positions. We both plan to explore both education and tourism potentials for the benefit of our people”, Dr Amoakohene noted.
