“We have not sent anyone to seize Omari Wadie’s car” – Raymond Archer, member of Operation Recover All Loots (ORAL), denies seizing of car
In the wake of serious allegations made by Omari Wadie, former Vice Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), regarding the seizure of his personal car, Raymond Archer, a member of the Operation Recover All Loots (ORAL) team, has come forward to deny any involvement in the incident.
Speaking on Kessben FM, Archer categorically rejected the claims that ORAL, a government-backed initiative designed to recover state assets allegedly misappropriated during previous administrations, had sent operatives to seize Wadie’s vehicle.
According to Wadie, his vehicle was parked at a mechanical shop when individuals, allegedly working under the direction of ORAL, forcibly took possession of it without any legal justification or prior warning.
Raymond Archer, who is a member of the ORAL team, responded swiftly to the allegations, asserting that the ORAL team had no part in the seizure of Wadie’s car. He emphasized that no such operation had been conducted by the team and that Wadie’s claims were completely unfounded.
Archer explained that the ORAL team’s mission is focused on recovering state assets that were allegedly stolen or misappropriated during previous government administrations. The team, he added, operates in strict adherence to legal protocols, with proper documentation and oversight.
While Archer’s denial provides clarity on the role of ORAL in the alleged car seizure, the incident involving Omari Wadie has sparked further confusion and speculation. Wadie had stated that his car was taken without any prior warning, raising questions about whether there was any misunderstanding or misidentification involved.
Wadie, who is a high-profile figure within the NPP, has insisted that the car was his personal asset and had no connection to any government-related investigations. In his original statement, Wadie expressed frustration over the way the car was taken, with no legal or official documentation provided by those who seized it.
Operation Recover All Loots (ORAL) was launched by the current administration with the goal of recovering state assets and wealth that were allegedly taken during the tenure of previous governments. The initiative was created to combat corruption and ensure that individuals who were in positions of power are held accountable for misappropriating state funds.
While the operation has largely focused on state-owned assets, ORAL has made headlines for its aggressive approach to asset recovery. Its activities, however, have not been without controversy. Some critics argue that the operation could be overstepping its bounds or acting in ways that are not fully transparent. Wadie’s allegations add to the growing concerns about the methods used by ORAL and the possibility of mistakes being made in the pursuit of asset recovery.
