“A New Chapter Unfolds: CPP’s Reorganization and Roadmap to Congress”
The Convention Peoples Party (CPP) has taken significant steps towards resolving its internal conflicts and moving forward. After a period of litigation and power struggles, the party’s National Executive Council (NEC) intervened, setting aside all leadership positions. However, some former leaders continued to claim leadership roles, causing further disputes.
To address this, the party’s Founding Fathers, led by Professor Naa Edmund Delle, intervened, meeting with key stakeholders, including former chair and leader Maame Akosua Frimpomaa, former General Secretary Nana Yaa Akyepim Jantuah, and regional chairmen. They formed an Independent Committee to steer the party forward.
The Independent Committee established a Reorganizational Committee, led by Comrades Yirimambo Moses and Habib Yakubu, to review the party’s National Delegates album and ensure its integrity. The committee submitted its report, paving the way for the formation of a Congress Committee, chaired by Comrade Nana Mireku Tumi.
The Congress Committee proposed a roadmap for the party’s congress, including dates for nomination forms, guidelines, and supplementary documents. The Independent Committee approved the proposals, setting the stage for the party’s congress to elect a flagbearer.
Additionally, the Independent Committee established a Communications Team, led by Comrade Osei Kofi Acquah, to amplify the party’s message and increase its visibility. The team proposed a program, “From the Nkrumaist Perspective,” to showcase the party’s vision and parliamentary candidates through weekly press conferences and media training for party communicators.
Overall, the CPP has made significant progress in resolving its internal conflicts and is now focused on moving forward, with a clear plan for its congress and a renewed emphasis on communication and visibility.

THE ROAD TO CONGRESS,THE STORY SO FAR
Good morning comrades yesterday the Convention Peoples Party ( Our Party) made the move we have all being impatiently waiting for which is giving us clear directions for the forward of our party.
BACKGROUND
Following the litigations and the long standing feuds in the party which led NEC to set all leadership aside, there were still other formers of leadership who carried themselves as leaders which stalled the activities of the Interim Council which was set up by NEC, including taking them to court to challenge the legitimacy of the Interim Council.
This was resisted by other comrades particularly key members of NEC who felt that as the second highest decision making body of the party their decision should be upheld.
In this back and forth situation the Founding Fathers of the CPP under the 4th Republic, decide to intervene.
So they met the former chair and leader of the party Maame Akosua Frimpomaa and listened to her.
After that, they met the former General Secretary of the party Nana Yaa Akyepim Jantuah and listened to her.
After that they met the former leadership and listened to them as to what the cause of the feuds.
After meeting the former leadership of the party, they met all the 16 regional chairmen who are the head of the constituencies in the region.
The founding fathers together with the Council of elders unanimously decided that the way forward was to step in and steer the Affairs of the party.
This was led to the formation of the Independent Committee at the residence of the former National chairman and leader of the party Professor Naa Edmund Delle.
