Commitment to bridge academia and industry, ATU holds maiden edition of CEOs lecture series 

       

Accra Technical University (ATU) as part of its commitment to bridge the gap between academic and industry have held its maiden edition of CEOs lecture series in Accra

The event forms part of a lineup of activities embarked for the celebration of its 75th anniversary celebrations which marks a significant milestone on the calendar of the university.

The lecture seeks to foster a dynamic exchange of ideas, perspective, insights and emerging business trends that inspires and empower students to navigate and embrace the complexities of the World of Works (WoWs) as well as capacity building for innovation and collaboration with industry for growth and development.

Speaking at the lecture series, under the theme, “75 years of Impacting Society and Driving Innovation, the Ag. Vice-Chancellor of ATU Prof. Amevi Acakpovi said the lecture is geared towards tapping into the wealth of knowledge and experience of seasoned CEOs and entrepreneurs in the industry space.

He said some Ghanaian entrepreneurs have excelled in their respective working endeavours and have left an indelible mark on the business landscape, adding that the role of education extends beyond the confines of textbooks and classrooms and must embrace the practical wisdom derived from real world experiences in today’s rapidly evolving global economy.

He however, urged students to take advantage of the lecture and apply it in their entrepreneurship drive and a guiding principle in pursuit of excellence and innovation for gravity and prosperity of the country.

For their part, representatives from the Jospong and Kantanka Group of companies urged students to develop hands on skills to enables them seek jobs in industries and urged them to innovate and advised students to tape into the numerous opportunities in the entrepreneurship sector.

They therefore called students to apply and work in their respective institutions during their internship programmes to enable them have a practical knowledge on the job as well as good ambassadors of ATU in every working endeavours across the country.
