A/R: Fire razes down over 150 shops at Racecourse market (Video)
The Ashanti Region’s Racecourse Market caught fire, destroying over 150 stores and millions of cedis’ worth of merchandise. The incident happened in Kumasi Metropolis.
The traders claim that on Monday, March 11, 2024, at around one in the morning, a fire broke out in one store and quickly spread to others, destroying both the stores and the merchandise.
The victims believe that one dealer, who was cooking on a gas cylinder in one of the businesses where it all began, set off the fire.
The attack on the fire team, according to D.O. 3 Simon Ben Boadu, the fire commander for the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital Fire Station, is what caused the fire to spread quickly.
