Sad News: Assemblyman on a campaign trail drowns dead
Teacher Obuor, an Assemblyman for the Tebrebie in the Western Region of Ghana was drowned to death in his bid to cross a river to a neighboring community to campaign ahead of the district assembly elections.
According to a report filed by Nana Esi Brew on Kessben FM’s Breaking News with Kwasi Ntiamoah, his canoe capsized on the Bonsa River while crossing the river to campaign.
The body of the late Assemblyman was found by a search party 3 hours after the canoe had capsized.
Residents of the communities have been left saddened following the news and have since been in a state of mourning.
According to the residents, even if the late Assemblyman who was seeking re-election had not campaigned he would have easily won the 19th December elections due to his good works.
