UENR Team Attends The Fall 2023 National Meeting Of The American Chemical Society (ACS) In San Francisco, USA
Miss Marjam Abugrey, alumna of the University of Energy and Natural Resources(UENR)University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR), Sunyani and a Teaching Assistant with the Department of Chemical Sciences, School of Sciences work was selected for a poster presentation at the Fall 2023 National Meeting of the American Chemical Society (ACS) held in San Francisco, USA from August 13-17, 2023..
Marjam is working on a research to identify DNA aptamers for arsenic under the supervision of Dr. Ismaila Emahi, Senior Lecturer with the Department of Chemical Sciences and Students Industrial Attachment Coordinator of UENR.
Marjam’s poster presentation was on 16th August, 2023 2023 at the Fall National Meeting of the American Chemical Society (ACS). She demonstrated her in-depth understanding of her presentation and smartly answered questions from major global stakeholders at the Fall 2023 National Meeting of the American Chemical Society (ACS) held in San Francisco, USA
She said she was honoured as the Chemistry Ambassador in Ghana for the American Chemistry Society (ACS) together with the Bono Regional Minister, Hon. Justina Owusu-Banahene and we are supposed to serve as a role model for the younger generation to encourage them to have an interest in the study of Chemistry at all levels of education in June, 2022 when UENR become the first University in Ghana to host the Chemistry Festival Training Institute in Sunyani.
Miss Abugrey attended the International Conference with Dr. Ismaili Emahi , Senior Lecturer at the Department of Chemical Sciences, School of Sciences and University’s Industrial Attachment Coordinator.
