We need more tots now to get intoxicated – Akpeteshi consumers threaten demo against Akufo Addo over price hike
Consumers of raw alcohol “Akpeteshi” in the Central Region have threatened to demonstrate against President Akuffo Addo over the economic hardship Ghanaians are experiencing.
Speaking in an interview with Kessben FM’s Nana Tawia, some of the Akpeteshi consumers in the Mfantseman Municipality said, the quantity of Akpeteshi they drink have drastically gone down because of the price hike and economic hardship.
According to them, they use to buy Akpeteshi one cedi previously but the current price has increased beyond their imagination with a starting price of 2 cedis per tot.
They stressed that they will soon called on their members to go on a sit-down strike and demonstrate for the president to do something about the hike in the price.
In addition, they noted that it has now become very difficult for them to be satisfied and intoxicated since the price has increased.
They are now calling on the government to reduce the price of Akpeteshi noting that they don’t believe the Russian and Ukraine war has also affected the price of Akpeteshi.
