Ahead of Bawumia’s address, NDC’s TEIN says no deceptive public lecture can save him
The Tertiary Educational Institutions Network (TEIN), student wing of the National Democratic Congress NDC, has said in a statement ahead of the public address to be delivered by the Vice President, that Dr Mahamudu Bawumia is suffering from credibility crisis therefore, he is trying to buy some credibility for himself before Ghanaians.
The statement signed by Deputy Coordinator, Mr Ekow Djan said ” Students and the entire youthful community are highly disappointed in him for his gross mismanagement of the economy.
“After making so much noise in opposition, the reality has today caught up with him. No amount of deceptive public lectures can save him from his failure. He does not have anything useful say!”
Meanwhile, a Senior Economic Policy Analyst at the office of the President, Dr Kabiru Mahama, has said the Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia will be touching on key issues including the e-levy in his public address scheduled to take place today, Thursday April 7 at 3PM.
Ghanaians have been asking the Head of the Economic Management team to break his silence on the e-levy which was passed by Parliament on Tuesday March 29 under a controversial circumstance.
The Minority staged a walkout during the process to pass the policy. They walked out after their Leader Haruna Iddrisu said the NDC MPs remained united in opposing the policy because, in their view, it threatened businesses.
Dr Kabiru said on the News 360 on TV3 that “The Vice President is going to speak on the e-levy and when he speaks we will now what his position on the e-levy is.”
He added that Dr Bawumia will be answering the questions about the economy which were asked by Ghanaians.
“He wants to address the questions of Ghanaians. He is going to speak to the concerns of Ghanaians about their lives and livelihood, about prices, about development. He is going to speak to Ghanaians about the future,” he said.
