NPP Belgium Vice Chair Calls For Unity After Kumasi Polls, Says Bawumia Is The Goal For 2028

The First Vice Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Belgium Branch, Raphael Godwill Panford, has called for unity within the party following its recent internal elections in Kumasi.
Speaking exclusively to Kessbenonline in Accra, Mr. Panford said a 10-member delegation from the Belgium branch flew in together to participate in the elections, which he described as successful.
According to him, over 40 aspirants contested for various positions, with 11 ultimately elected to lead the party.
“We congratulate all of them, from the Chairman to the Communications Officer. We congratulate everybody,” he said.
Mr. Panford appealed to the newly elected executives to reach out to those who could not make it into the final 11.
“Those who could not make it to the 11, we still need their support. My personal appeal is that the elected officials should stretch their hands to those who lost and bring them on board, because they equally have the qualities and capabilities for the positions they contested for. It is the delegates who decide,” he stated.
He stressed that the NPP has one common goal heading into the 2028 general elections.
“At the end of the day, we have one goal, and the goal is Dr. Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia, who is the leader of our party. Had it not been him, I wouldn’t have been here. I would have been in Belgium, in a warehouse driving forklift, doing loading and offloading. But because we want to tap his knowledge and the vision he has for Ghana, we believe that in 2028 he will be President of this nation,” he said.
Mr. Panford added that come January 2029, Ghana will have a new leader from the NPP.
He said the Belgium branch is ready to support the party logistically and on the ground.
“We did our part and we are willing to support with logistics and everything. We have started gathering ourselves. We will be here in December 2027 to start mobilizing on the ground, going from constituency to constituency, village to village, to reach out to all the people down there, so that we all come together and wrestle power from the NDC,” he noted.
He described the 2028 contest as a crucial battle that will require collective effort from all party members both home and abroad.
