NDC manifesto promised 30% women’s representation, Now It’s 30% arrests of women – Janet Nabla

Janet Nabla, Convener of the Women’s Voice Matters demonstration, has questioned the NDC government’s commitment to its manifesto pledge of achieving 30 per cent representation of women in government.

Speaking on Kessben TV, Nabla asked where the promised representation was, while criticising the arrest of women involved in demonstrations.

“Their manifesto said 30% representation of women in government. Where is it? It’s now 30% arrest of women,” she said.

Ms. Nabla’s comments come amid concerns over the treatment of women participating in protests and calls for greater representation of women in decision-making and governance.

She maintained that the government’s commitment to women’s participation should be reflected not only in its stated policies but also in how women are treated when they exercise their civic rights.
