TRAFFITECH-GH: Police Train Enforcement Teams Ahead Of October 1 Rollout
The Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD) of the Ghana Police Service, in collaboration with its private sector partner, has organised a training session for selected Police personnel and public sector partners on the operations of the Traffitech-GH project.
The training, held on Thursday, 24th September 2026, at the Stevens Hotel Conference Room in Ho, Volta Region, also provided participants with an overview of the new Road Traffic Regulations, 2026 (L.I. 2519), and the Road Traffic (Amendment) Act, 2025 (Act 1153).
The training forms part of ongoing preparations towards the operationalisation of Traffitech-GH on 1st October 2026, in accordance with Regulation 242. It was the fifth and final session in a series of nationwide enforcement training programmes.
A total of 45 participants attended the programme, including MTTD personnel from Ho and representatives from the Judicial Service, National Road Safety Authority (NRSA), National Insurance Commission (NIC) and Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA).
Participants were taken through key areas, including automated road traffic offences and fines under Regulation 242, an overview and implementation of the Traffitech-GH system, and the contest flow.
The selected back office team from the region also received practical training on the operation of the in vehicle fixed camera and the handheld or tripod Lasercam4 speed camera.
As part of preparations for the commencement of Traffitech-GH on 1st October 2026, the Volta Region back office has also been set up with the updated Traffitech-GH software at the Regional MTTD Office in Ho.
