Ghana–Yorkshire Trade, Investment and Partnership Summit Set For September 2026 At University of Bradford

Ghana and Yorkshire are set to deepen economic ties as senior government officials, investors, business leaders, and academics converge in the UK for the Ghana–Yorkshire Trade, Investment and Partnership Summit [GYTIPS 2026] on 11–12 September 2026 at the University of Bradford.

The two-day summit, organised by SHOFT [Shape Our Future Together] in collaboration with the Ghana High Commission UK & Ireland, Ghana Scholarly Society UK, University of Bradford School of Management* and West Yorkshire Combined Authority, aims to convert dialogue into tangible trade deals, investments and joint ventures.

“Partnership For Shared Prosperity”
Under the theme “Yorkshire Leading the New Regional Business, Trade and Investment Agenda for Innovation and Sustainable Growth,” GYTIPS 2026 will focus on building practical pathways for collaboration in trade, investment, manufacturing, innovation, education, research, tourism and sustainable development.

Dr. Samuel Kusi, Assistant Professor in Marketing at the University of Bradford and Head of Branding & Partnership at the Ghana Scholarly Society, said the summit is designed to move beyond talk.

“The Summit will provide a high-level platform to deepen trade, investment, entrepreneurship, innovation, education, research and institutional partnerships between Ghana and Yorkshire, while creating practical pathways towards shared economic prosperity,” he stated.

About 150–200 business leaders, investors, exporters, policymakers, academics, professional advisers and diaspora entrepreneurs from Ghana and the UK are expected to attend.

The event will feature keynote addresses from top Ghanaian government and diplomatic officials, alongside leading academics and business figures.

Building A Ghana–Yorkshire Economic Bridge
GYTIPS 2026 will explore opportunities in financial services, manufacturing, technology, healthcare, agriculture and agribusiness, renewable energy, logistics, tourism, creative industries and professional services.

A key objective is to position Ghana as an attractive investment destination and gateway to African markets, while helping Yorkshire-based companies expand into new international markets.

Hosted by the University of Bradford, the summit will also place strong emphasis on university-industry partnerships, joint research, skills development, and support for SMEs, start-ups, women entrepreneurs and young innovators.

Diaspora As Strategic Partner
Organisers say the Ghanaian diaspora will be central to the summit’s outcomes. Beyond remittances, the diaspora contributes investment capital, expertise, professional networks and access to global markets.

“The Summit will therefore encourage greater diaspora participation in trade, investment, entrepreneurship, knowledge transfer and business partnerships,” the release noted.

From Dialogue To Action
The organisers’ message is clear: “Trade creates connections. Investment creates opportunity. Partnerships create lasting impact.”

GYTIPS 2026 is being positioned as a strategic commitment to building stronger economic bridges between Ghana and Yorkshire by connecting people, businesses, institutions, investment and ideas.
