NDC did not win 2024 elections because its votes increased massively- Lawyer Ohene Gyan

Lawyer Ohene Gyan has stated that the New Democratic Congress (NDC) did not win the 2024 general elections simply because its support increased significantly, but rather because some New Patriotic Party (NPP) supporters failed to turn out to vote.
Speaking on Kessben FM, Lawyer Ohene Gyan said a closer examination of the election results shows that the NDC’s votes did not increase enough to fully explain the NPP’s defeat.
“If you face the facts, you all know the NDC didn’t win the elections because their votes appreciated massively, but many NPP members decided not to vote,” he said.
He suggested that voter apathy among NPP supporters played a major role in the party’s poor performance in the 2024 elections.
According to him, the NPP must therefore focus on re-energising its base, improving grassroots mobilisation and ensuring that its supporters turn out in large numbers in future elections.
His comments come as the NPP undertakes internal reorganisation and prepares its structures for the 2028 general elections.
