“We Will Create Millionaire Farmers And Agricultural Villages With Wi-Fi”: PAG’s Dr. John Enyonam Kpikpi Unveils Youth Agenda

Flagbearer of the Progressive Alliance for Ghana (PAG), Dr. John Enyonam Kpikpi, has unveiled plans to create “agricultural villages” with housing, water, electricity and Wi-Fi, saying young people will queue up for farming if the right opportunities are created.

He made the announcement at PAG’s National Delegates Conference held at All Nations School at Ashalley Botwe in Accra on Saturday August 1, 2026, attended by party members across the 16 regions who unanimously endorsed his candidature.

“Reimagine Life in Ghana for Young People”
Addressing young people directly, Dr. Kpikpi said the country must reimagine how it creates opportunity.

“Me is that when we create opportunities for young people in this nation, we’ve got to. I’m speaking to young people here. Every young person, you got to reimagine life in Ghana. This one is going to be life for you. Got to reimagine life in this nation,” he said.

“We’ve got to create opportunity for everyone in this nation. Every young person will be empowered with skills and training.”

He cited Ghana’s demographics as a major asset. “I’ve been told; I just found out that 70 to 74% of Ghana’s population is under 35. Now this is an amazing asset because everyone under 35 is ready to work, is ready to run, is ready to fly. But because of poor leadership, most of them are not doing anything. PAG will come and release all this potential and open the gates.”

Agricultural Villages with Wi-Fi and Cooperatives
Dr. Kpikpi said agriculture will be transformed through planned villages and cooperatives.

“If I can mention just agriculture, for example, we will create agricultural villages with cooperatives set in the midst of that. Every agricultural village, whether you are going to be growing rice or beans or raising chickens, we will make sure that those agricultural villages have good housing, water supply, electricity, and even Wi-Fi.”

“Now, when we create that kind of environment, our young people will be excited to go there. Once Wi-Fi is in place, they can be there and take on work from that location. We will invest in this project in order to bring a transforming agriculture to this nation.”

“I can tell you, young people will be queuing up to go on agricultural programs. They’ll be queuing up. People say, ‘How do we get young people to live in?’ No, create better conditions outside, and we will transform agriculture in this country.”

“Millennial Farmers” And $700 Million For Rice
He said Ghana must stop importing what it can grow and put the money in farmers’ pockets.

“I want all farmers to reimagine their lives, reimagine farming in Ghana. It’s a very sad thing, but when you say you are a farmer, people just look at you like this and say, ‘Oh, sorry,’ because of how our farmers have lived and suffered for centuries. But no more. We put a stop to that.”

“We will create an environment where farmers are producing all the rice that we need, which means that 700 million US dollars will suddenly be available for all the farmers who are producing this rice. That will change our farmers. They will become millionaires. They will own their own equipment. They will own their own mills. They will own all that.”

“Imagine 700 million dollars that we used to use to buy rice every day from Vietnam or wherever. It’s now floating around in the pockets and bank accounts of farmers in this country. We’ll be creating millionaire farmers. We will be creating millionaire cooperatives. Very prosperous people. Ghana will be transformed.”

“It Must Not Be So”: Ending Migration Crisis
Dr. Kpikpi linked poor leadership to the number of young Ghanaians risking their lives to migrate.

“I want you to imagine life for workers in this country today. Very few have work, and most of our workers are actually resigning or leaving Ghana to go into other countries seeking better places to work.”

“The tragedy is that many of our people don’t even get there. They are destroyed in North Africa, going through the deserts. I read a story just yesterday that 57 people died trying to cross over to Spain, and some of them may well be Ghanaians.”

“Now it is a travesty of justice, a travesty of leadership, that we have a leadership that allows this kind of things to go on. It’s a leadership failure that makes people so desperate that they are leaving their own countries and risking their whole lives, ending up in early graves in the Mediterranean. It must not be so.”

He pledged that a PAG government will make Ghana the destination of choice.
“A PAG government in place will make a pledge that, because of the policies we set in place, because of taking over the natural resources, because of the transformations that we bring in, it will create a totally different Ghana. A Ghana of hope, a Ghana of opportunities, a Ghana of a bright future, where many people will think, ‘Wow, this is the best place to be.’ They would never even think about going anywhere else.”

“And I want to say even more: Ghana will become the sought-after country in the whole of Africa. At the moment many Ghanaians are looking for visas to go to other countries. I declare that under a PAG government, we shall have many nationals queuing up at our embassies across the world, because this is a place that is very hard to get into.”

PAG Endorses Kpikpi
The National Delegates Conference brought together PAG members from across the 16 regions. Delegates unanimously endorsed Dr. John Enyonam Kpikpi as the party’s presidential candidate.
