Flagbearer of the Progressive Alliance for Ghana (PAG), Dr. John Enyonam Kpikpi, has laid out a bold 10-year vision to transform Ghana, promising a house for every family, Ghanaian-built roads, and jobs for young people in infrastructure.
He spoke at PAG’s National Delegates Conference over the weekend, where delegates from across the 16 regions unanimously endorsed his candidature for the 2028 elections.
“Opportunity For North, South, East And West”
Dr. Kpikpi said a PAG government will create a nation where every Ghanaian can rise regardless of where they come from.
“There will be opportunity whether you are from the north, the south, the east, or west of this country. You can rise up to the highest level. All opportunities remain available. We are going to create a different kind of nation,” he said.
“I urge you to come along with me and reimagine this Ghana in which people are still trying to come into our country. In fact, we will say to them, ‘Sorry, there isn’t enough space for you now.’ It will be Ghanaians who are sought after. The other nationals that will come in here. It is possible. We shall create it.”
“We Dance On Our Roads”: Fixing Infrastructure With Ghanaians
The PAG leader criticized the state of Ghana’s roads and pledged to put Ghanaians in charge of building them.
“I want you to reimagine a new country with infrastructure. The state of our roads is a national disgrace, and these are people who have been leading us for 32 years. Roads in Accra. I’m not talking about roads in Kulungungu or Zuarungu. Roads in Accra are still not being built. What chance have people got outside of Accra? It’s unacceptable. Completely unacceptable.”
He said Ghanaians have normalized poor infrastructure. “When you have lived with something like this for so long, you get used to it. We don’t drive on our roads; we dance on our roads with our cars. We are doing palambo on the road in your car. That’s what we do. We think it’s normal. It is not a normal thing.”
His solution: build roads with Ghanaian companies and youth.
“I want you to reimagine a Ghana where all the roads are built, and they will be built with young people who will set up road building companies, who will now have jobs, who will build all these roads for us.”
“Why should it be the case that the leadership we have now prefers to give road building contracts to Chinese and other nationals than to Ghanaians who are also competent to do so? We have to change all that. PAG will come and put Ghanaians first. We put Ghanaians in the driving seat.”
“If they haven’t got the skills, we shall train them. If they haven’t got the capabilities, we shall provide for them. Look, we will have so much money once we get hold of the natural resource money. We can invest in equipment. We can invest in all manner of training schemes, so that our own people are building our own roads.”
“A House For Every Family In 10 Years”
Dr. Kpikpi announced a massive housing program aimed at wiping out Ghana’s housing deficit.
“I have this vision that the plans and the processes will kick off when PAG comes into power. It’s going to continue, and within 10 years, every family should be able to own a two-bedroom house if they are willing and working for themselves. 10 to 12 years. Yes, I mean two-bedroom house minimum. Every Ghanaian family will be living in a nice, proper two-bedroom house.”
“What we have now, people living in containers, people living in uncompleted houses, people living in all kinds of things, and we still have leadership in this country. It’s totally unacceptable.”
“We have to complete all uncompleted units, and there will be a massive housing program that will create so many homes. We say we have a deficit of 2.4 million units. We shall take off that deficit within a very short while because that is where we employ the people. Thousands and thousands of people working to create the new homes.”
He added an ambitious target for prosperity: “And not only the homes, but every family will also have two cars in their garage as well. That’s what I’m looking for. That’s the kind of Ghana I want to create. It will be like the proverbial land of milk and honey. Everything will be there.”
“The Vision Has Been Too Small”
Dr. Kpikpi said Ghana’s problems stem from a lack of vision and too much focus on personal gain.
“The vision for this nation has been too small. In fact, there has been no vision at all for the nation. That’s why we are where we are. There has been too much interest in personal interest. Me and my family alone.”

The conference brought together PAG members from across the country to deliberate on policy direction ahead of the 2028 elections. Delegates unanimously endorsed Dr. John Enyonam Kpikpi as the party’s presidential candidate.
