Transfer window check-in: Rating Europe’s 10 richest clubs on their summer business so far

The summer transfer market has quickly taken centre stage after the conclusion of the World Cup, with clubs across Europe racing to reshape their squads ahead of the new season. Several blockbuster moves have already been completed, headlined by Morgan Rogers’ stunning £117 million switch from Aston Villa to Chelsea.

There has been no shortage of major spending elsewhere either. England internationals Elliot Anderson and Anthony Gordon have also secured high-profile transfers, joining Manchester City and Barcelona respectively in deals worth significant fees.

With pre-season underway and just six weeks remaining before the September 1 transfer deadline, Europe’s biggest clubs are at different stages of their recruitment plans. While some have already completed most of their business, others still have key positions to address before the window closes.
