Man Utd transfer update: Manu Koné and Carlos Baleba emerge as leading midfield option

Manchester United are seriously considering Roma midfielder Manu Koné and Brighton star Carlos Baleba as they continue their search for a third midfield signing this summer.
The Red Devils have revisited the possibility of signing Baleba, with the club exploring what a potential deal for the 22-year-old could look like. However, no formal negotiations between the two clubs have taken place yet, and an agreement would likely depend on finding a compromise over Brighton’s valuation of the player.
Koné has also emerged as an alternative option, with United assessing a possible move for the France international. Sources in France suggest that Manchester United are currently among the frontrunners in the race for the Roma midfielder, whose transfer fee is expected to be more manageable compared to Baleba’s price tag.
The club is not rushing into a decision, with both midfielders part of a wider list of targets being considered. United are continuing to evaluate their options while also looking to strengthen other areas of the squad before committing to their next major move.
The Premier League giants have already added two midfielders this summer, signing Youri Tielemans from Aston Villa and Andrey Santos from Chelsea in deals worth a combined £85 million.
