Sources in France suggest that Manchester United are currently among the frontrunners in the race for the Roma midfielder, whose transfer fee is expected to be more manageable compared to Baleba’s price tag.
The club is not rushing into a decision, with both midfielders part of a wider list of targets being considered. United are continuing to evaluate their options while also looking to strengthen other areas of the squad before committing to their next major move.
The Premier League giants have already added two midfielders this summer, signing Youri Tielemans from Aston Villa and Andrey Santos from Chelsea in deals worth a combined £85 million.
