Let’s embrace it – Sekyere Dumasi Community Bank Board Chairman Mathew Kojo NJORKONE advocates AI adoption

The Board Chairman of Sekyere Dumasi Community Bank, Mr. Mathew Kojo NJORKONE , has called on Rural and Community Banks to embrace artificial intelligence (AI) as the banking industry continues to evolve through digital innovation.

Speaking to Kessben Digital after the Artificial Intelligence and Artificial Fluency Training organized by the Financial Inclusion Advocacy Centre (FIAC), Mr. Kojo described the programme as insightful and relevant to the future of banking.

“Let’s embrace it,” he urged. “Artificial intelligence is shaping the future of banking, and as directors, we must be prepared to understand and adopt these technologies to improve our institutions and better serve our customers.”

He commended the Financial Inclusion Advocacy Centre for organizing the training, saying it had provided participants with valuable knowledge on the practical applications of AI, digital transformation, and effective governance in the financial sector.

Mr. Kojo expressed confidence that the lessons learned would enable directors of Rural and Community Banks to make informed strategic decisions and position their institutions to remain competitive in an increasingly technology-driven banking environment.

The training brought together directors from several Rural and Community Banks across the Ashanti Region as part of efforts to strengthen leadership capacity and promote digital innovation within Ghana’s rural banking sector.
