Protest Against Kennedy Agyapong Was Needless and Meant to Embarrass the NPP – Gordon Asare Bediako

The aspiring National Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Gordon Asare Bediako, has described the recent demonstration calling for the removal of Kennedy Agyapong from the party as needless and cowardly. He said the protest did not reflect the views of the wider party membership.
Speaking about the incident at the Kessben Maakye show, Bediako said only five people took part in the protest after an event had ended. While he acknowledged that demonstrations are part of democracy, he argued that such a small protest could not influence the future of a senior party member.
Bediako also called on the NPP to improve security at its major meetings. He said tighter security measures would help prevent disruptions and protect the party’s image during important gatherings. According to him, those behind the protest only wanted to embarrass the NPP.
He further expressed concern that some people deliberately create unnecessary controversies around the party to attract media attention. Bediako said such actions damage the NPP’s reputation and distract members from the party’s core objectives and preparations for the upcoming constituency elections.
He urged party members to remain united and promote peace ahead of the July constituency elections. Bediako also encouraged Kennedy Agyapong’s close associates to support him and advised all party members to respect the NPP’s rules and decisions in good faith.
