GAM Denies Claims He’s Not a Registered Voter in Greater Accra, Says He’s Rooted at Domeabra-Obom
Comrade Godwin Ayaba Mahama dismisses “false narrative” ahead of potential Greater Accra Regional Secretary contest

Comrade Godwin Ayaba Mahama, popularly known as GAM, has dismissed claims that he is not a registered voter in the Greater Accra Region, describing the narrative as “false and misleading propaganda” intended to undermine his credibility.
In a disclaimer issued Sunday, Mahama said he remains a registered voter at the Domeabra-Obom Constituency, specifically the Obom Primary Branch. He stressed that he has “always been a voter in this constituency and have neither transferred nor intend to transfer my vote from the region.”
The statement comes amid speculation that Mahama may contest for the position of Greater Accra Regional Secretary. Some individuals, he noted, have been circulating the voter claim and urging others not to support him should he decide to run.
“My Commitment Has Never Depended on Government or Opposition”
GAM said his years of service to the party in Greater Accra have cut across multiple wings, including Youth, Organizational, and Communication, as well as campaign activities.
“For years, I have served the Greater Accra Region with dedication through various structures of the party… My commitment has never depended on whether the party is in government or opposition,” he stated.
He urged supporters, delegates, and the public to disregard the claims, which he said were meant to “create unnecessary disaffection among those who believe in my service.”
On Past Contest and Future Plans
Reflecting on his previous regional contest, Mahama said he accepted the outcome in good faith and continued serving the party. He added that encouragement from delegates remains his motivation.
“Although I was unsuccessful in my previous regional contest, I accepted the outcome in good faith and continued to serve the party. The encouragement and confidence shown to me by many delegates remain my motivation, and no amount of misinformation will change that. Man is not God,” he said.
GAM called for calm and unity as discussions around party positions intensify. “I encourage everyone to remain calm, focused, and united. At the appropriate time, we shall make our intentions known and work together to build the unity, cooperation, and progress that the Greater Accra Region deserves,” the disclaimer concluded.
