Tested By Trials. Trusted By NPP. Ready To Deliver For Ghana – Antwi Bernard Boasiako

The National Chairman aspirant and Ashanti Regional Chairman, Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, has reaffirmed his commitment to rebuilding, uniting, and repositioning the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for victory in the 2028 general elections.
Speaking during a live interview as part of his ongoing engagement with party delegates and stakeholders, Chairman Wontumi said his political journey has been defined by resilience, loyalty, and a proven ability to win difficult political battles.
Forged Through Experience
“I have never had the luxury of an easy election,” Chairman Wontumi stated. “Every battle has been hard fought. But those trials did not break me. They built me.”
Reflecting on his rise through the ranks of the party, he noted that he progressed from the constituency level to become Ashanti Regional Chairman, securing three consecutive terms while helping to strengthen the party’s electoral fortunes in its strongest region.
“The grassroots made me. I owe them everything,” he said.
Loyalty Backed by Action
Chairman Wontumi stressed that loyalty to the party must be demonstrated through action and sacrifice.
“When the party chose Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, I put personal preference aside and worked for victory. That is what loyalty looks like. Not in words, but in work.”
He argued that the NPP’s challenge is not a shortage of intellectuals or eloquent communicators, but the need for practical leadership capable of delivering electoral victories.
“We don’t need more polished English. We need a working chairman. The NPP has no shortage of elites and eloquent speakers. I am here to deliver results.”
A Contract with Delegates
Chairman Wontumi outlined four key priorities that will guide his leadership if elected National Chairman:
• Unite the party by strengthening the bond between leadership and the grassroots.
• Rebuild the party from the ground up by reinforcing structures at the polling station level.
• Lead the NPP to victory in 2028 behind the presidential candidacy of Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.
• Expand opportunities for young party activists by creating clear pathways for leadership development within the party.
Confidence Amid Challenges
Addressing ongoing legal proceedings involving him, Chairman Wontumi reiterated his respect for the rule of law and confidence in the judicial process.
“Let me address the elephant in the room. My legal challenges do not disqualify me from serving. I respect the law. I believe in due process. History is full of leaders who were tried in the fire while serving their people. What matters is integrity. What matters is resilience. I have both.”
He maintained that he remains focused on the task ahead and committed to serving the party with dedication and determination.
A Commitment to Service
Chairman Wontumi emphasised that his bid for National Chairman is driven by a desire to serve rather than be served.
“I’m not asking to be served. I’m asking to serve. I will be a working chairman. The kind who sleep in the constituencies and wake up with the grassroots.”
He said his campaign is anchored on unity, grassroots empowerment, organisational discipline, and a renewed determination to return the NPP to government in 2028.
He pledged to work with every constituency, region, party executive, and stakeholder to strengthen the party and build a united front capable of delivering victory at the next general election.
