Benjamin Owusu Ansah, a member of the communication team of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has alleged that there is a growing trend within the New Patriotic Party (NPP) where some individuals make controversial statements to gain public attention and political popularity.
Speaking on Kessben FM, Benjamin Owusu Ansah claimed that certain party members intentionally make provocative remarks, get arrested, and later use the publicity to contest for political positions.
“There is now a trend in NPP where some guys will spew nonsense, get arrested, get popular and then contest for a position,” he stated during the discussion.
According to him, such actions undermine political discipline and reduce the quality of public discourse. He further urged political actors to focus on issue-based politics and responsible communication.
