”Something Is Wrong in NDC”— Why Asiedu Nketia is on campaign tour? – Andy Kankam

Andy Kankam, Managing Editor of Informer, has raised concerns over what he describes as deepening cracks within the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), warning that recent events point to growing dissatisfaction within the party.
Speaking on Kessben Maakye’s show in Accra, Kankam said the public outburst by Mustapha Gbande signals that “something is wrong” within the NDC and suggests that many party members do not feel adequately carried along in government affairs.
According to him, the situation is not healthy for the party, especially as tensions appear to be building among key stakeholders and grassroots supporters.
“The party is not being carried along with the government machinery, and that is not a good thing,” he stressed.
Kankam noted that the NDC has faced similar situations in the past, in which senior party figures remained silent rather than addressing internal concerns head-on. He questioned the effectiveness of some party executives, asking what practical steps they are taking to calm tensions and unite the rank and file.
The political commentator also took a swipe at National Chairman Johnson Asiedu Nketia, arguing that his current engagements look more like a campaign tour than routine party activities.
He further attributed Mustapha Gbande’s frustration, in part, to the party’s delegate system, claiming that the structure often creates divisions and dissatisfaction among party faithful.
Kankam warned that if the government and party hierarchy fail to address the growing frustrations, the consequences could become severe. “Once government is fractured, the consequences are dire,” he cautioned.
