“I’m Still in the Race” – Gordon Asare-Bediako Rejects Pressure to Step Down for Dennis Miracles Aboagye
By Maurice Otoo

An aspiring National Organizer of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Gordon Asare-Bediako, has disclosed that he remains firmly in the race despite attempts to persuade him to step aside for another contender.
Speaking on internal matters within the NPP on Kessben Maakye show in Accra, Asare-Bediako revealed that he consulted former NPP National Chairman, Nana Akomea, over his intention to contest the party’s National Communications Director position.
According to him, Nana Akomea advised that it would not be appropriate for both himself and Dennis Miracles Aboagye to contest from the same camp linked to Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
“Nana Akomea told me that through my help, Miracles Aboagye had risen politically, and it would not be proper for both of us in Dr. Bawumia’s camp to contest against each other,” he stated.
Asare-Bediako further alleged that concerns were raised about his financial strength for the contest.
“I affirmed my decision to contest, but Nana Akomea suggested that elections are about money and advised me to leave the race for Miracles Aboagye,” he claimed.
Despite the concerns and persuasion, the NPP stalwart insisted he remains determined to contest the position.
“My relationship with Dr. Bawumia is personal, so he would not communicate with me through another person,” he stressed.
He concluded emphatically: “I am still in the race and will contest the National Communications Director position in the NPP.”
