Kessben Drive Host Fante Quoo raises alarm over rise of ‘Fake Journalists’ on social media

The host of Kessben Drive, Fante Quoo, has expressed concern over what he describes as the growing trend of individuals misrepresenting themselves as journalists on social media platforms.

Speaking on his show on Kessben FM, he lamented that while impersonating professionals such as doctors is widely recognized as a criminal offense, similar scrutiny is not being applied to those posing as journalists online.

“When people impersonate doctors and other professions, it is seen as criminal, but people are all over TikTok parading themselves as journalists, throwing dust in people’s eyes with impudence,” he said.

Fante Quoo warned that the trend risks spreading misinformation and undermining public trust in credible journalism. He called for stricter regulation and greater public awareness to curb the practice and protect the integrity of the media landscape.

His remarks come amid ongoing debates about misinformation and accountability in the digital age, as social media continues to reshape how news is created and consumed.
