Security Service Recruitment: 105,000 applicants have successfully qualified, 10,000 to be recruited – Nasir Gardenboi

The Spokesperson for the Hon. Muntaka, the interior minister, Nasir Gardenboi, has disclosed that 105,000 applicants have successfully qualified for screening in the latest security services recruitment exercise.
Speaking during an interview on Kessben FM with host Wofa Kofi Appiah, Gardenboi indicated that the large number reflects the growing interest among Ghanaians in joining the country’s security agencies.
Despite the high number of qualified candidates, he clarified that only 10,000 personnel will ultimately be recruited. He explained that the screening process will be rigorous to ensure that only the most suitable candidates are selected to serve.
“The qualification for screening is just one stage,” he noted, adding that applicants will undergo further assessments, including medical, physical, and background checks.
Gardenboi emphasized that the recruitment forms part of the government’s broader strategy to strengthen national security and enhance operational capacity across the various services.
He encouraged all shortlisted candidates to prepare adequately for the screening process, stressing that selection will be strictly based on merit and transparency.
