A contender for the Youth Organiser position of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) UK Branch, Kwaku Ampratwum Djarbeng, has pledged to build a vibrant and resourceful youth wing capable of contributing meaningfully to the party’s rebuilding efforts and electoral success ahead of the 2028 general elections.

Mr. Djarbeng made the remarks during a meeting of the NPP UK Nottingham Chapter on Sunday, where he outlined his vision for strengthening youth participation and mobilisation within the party.

According to him, his foremost priority is to harness the knowledge, skills, and experience of young members within the NPP UK branch and channel these resources into initiatives that will support the party’s growth both in the diaspora and back home in Ghana.

“When it comes to NPP UK youth, what I am seeking to do is to mobilise resources for the youth for the benefit of the party,” he said. “Those who possess knowledge, skills, and experience must be brought on board so that together we can contribute meaningfully to the party’s objectives.”

Mr. Djarbeng stressed that the party faces a challenging political landscape and must therefore invest significantly in strengthening its youth base to remain competitive in future elections.

He noted that young people constitute a critical demographic in Ghana’s electoral politics and play a decisive role in determining the outcome of national elections.

“The youth are the driving force behind the development of every nation, and Ghana is no exception,” he stated. “If we are able to properly organise, empower, and engage our young people, the party will be better positioned to reclaim power.”

Mr. Djarbeng further observed that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) secured considerable support from young voters during the 2024 general elections, a factor he believes contributed significantly to its victory.

“In the last general election, it became evident that the party which succeeds in winning the confidence of the youth stands a greater chance of winning national elections,” he noted.

He therefore urged the NPP to place greater emphasis on youth engagement and actively attract more young people into the party’s fold as part of a broader strategy to strengthen its grassroots structures.

Looking ahead to the 2028 elections, Mr. Djarbeng expressed confidence in his ability to mobilise and organise the youth within the NPP UK branch to support the party’s agenda.

“With the right leadership, strategy, and commitment, the NPP UK youth wing can become a formidable force that will not only energise the party in the diaspora but also contribute significantly to its electoral fortunes in the years ahead,” he added.
