President Mahama Touches Down in Nairobi for Jamhuri Day Event

President John Dramani Mahama has arrived in Nairobi, Kenya, for an official visit at the invitation of Kenyan President William Samoei Ruto.
The President will serve as the Chief Guest at Kenya’s Jamhuri Day celebration on Friday, a major national event commemorating the country’s independence and highlighting its rich cultural heritage.
President Mahama touched down at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport shortly after midnight Kenya time. He was warmly received by the Cabinet Secretary for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora Affairs, H.E. Musalia Mudavadi, together with other senior government officials.

This year’s Jamhuri Day celebration is expected to attract high-level dignitaries from across the African continent, reflecting Kenya’s growing diplomatic ties and its commitment to strengthening regional cooperation.
Following the national ceremony, President Mahama will attend a State House luncheon hosted by President Ruto. The luncheon will provide an opportunity for bilateral discussions aimed at deepening cooperation between Ghana and Kenya in areas such as trade, investment, agriculture, and digital innovation.
President Mahama’s participation in the event underscores the strong relationship between the two nations and his continuing role as a respected African statesman.
