Legal Aid Commission is there for people who don’t have money to hire lawyers – Dwinfo Adusei Sadik, Principal Legal Officer of A/R Legal Aid Commission

Dwinfo Adusei Sadik, the Principal Legal Officer of the Ashanti Regional Legal Aid Commission, has assured the public that the Legal Aid Commission exists to support individuals who cannot afford to hire private lawyers.

Speaking in an interview on Kessben FM with KOD, he emphasized the Commission’s critical role in promoting access to justice for all, regardless of financial status.

According to Mr. Sadik, the Legal Aid Commission provides free legal representation for people involved in civil and criminal cases who meet the Commission’s criteria for legal assistance. “The Commission is there for people who don’t have money to hire lawyers when they have legal problems,” he stated.

He further explained that the lawyers working with the Legal Aid Commission are not volunteers but are paid by the government. “These are qualified legal professionals who are employed by the state to ensure that justice is not denied to the poor,” he noted.

Mr. Sadik encouraged Ghanaians facing legal challenges but lacking financial resources to reach out to the Legal Aid offices across the country for support. He added that access to justice is a constitutional right, and the Legal Aid Commission plays a vital role in making that right a reality for the underprivileged.
