We’ll no longer tolerate assault on security officers – Hon Muntaka, Interior Minister warns

Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, the interior minister, has declared a zero-tolerance policy for acts of lawlessness and has sent a strong warning to communities and people who attack security personnel or installations.

The Minister’s warning follows a startling increase in attacks on uniformed troops nationwide, which have seriously harmed a number of cops.

Mr. Mohammed-Mubarak called the attacks intolerable and a clear danger to national security while speaking on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at the commissioning of the National Signals Bureau’s Ultra-Modern Command Center in the Eastern Region.

“We are not anymore going to tolerate communities that attack our security personnel and our security facilities,” he cautioned.

“We are no longer going to do that, we will let the force of the forces come to bear on any community that think that they will attack our men and women and good suffering. That will no longer be tolerated under this government.”

He disclosed that a number of security agency officials were currently fighting for their life after being attacked while on duty.

The Minister underlined that the government is still dedicated to upholding law and order and that no organization would be permitted to jeopardize the security services’ morale and safety.

He assured the public that criminals would face harsh consequences and urged them to respect security personnel and cooperate with them in maintaining peace.
