The Ministry of Food and Agriculture has announced the official launch of the much-anticipated “Nkoko Nkitinkiti” programme, which will take place in Kumasi tomorrow, November 12.

According to the Head of Communications at the Ministry, Hon. Apraku Lartey, who spoke in an interview on Kessben FM, the initiative forms part of the government’s broader efforts to boost poultry production and enhance food security across the country.

Hon. Lartey explained that the “Nkoko Nkitinkiti” programme is designed to support local poultry farmers with improved breeds, feed subsidies, and technical training aimed at increasing productivity and reducing reliance on imported chicken.

He further revealed that while the first phase will be rolled out in Kumasi and parts of the Ashanti Region, the next phase of the programme is scheduled to begin in January 2026, expanding to other regions nationwide.

The Ministry has expressed optimism that the “Nkoko Nkitinkiti” initiative will create jobs, empower farmers, and strengthen the domestic poultry value chain.
