Mahama is the only one who can reset Ghana for us- Kwame Pianim

Ghanaian economist , Andrews Kwame Pianim has expressed confidence in the current president’s ability to fulfil his promises, citing a past incident where a promise of 10,000 houses for teachers was not fulfilled.
He emphasized the importance of teachers in shaping individuals and stresses the need to support them well, including through fair compensation.
Mr. Kwame Pianim said this when Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT) paid courtesy visit to the President of Ghana H.E John Dramani Mahama at the presidency .
“ Here, we tend to underpay our teachers, but with you as a listening president, and I was happy when they were coming, he said, let’s go and talk to the President. I say with this President, if he tells you he’s going to do something, he will do it.” He noted.
He cited a past incident where a promise of 10,000 houses for teachers was not fulfilled.
“Somebody told them he was going to give them 10,000 houses. They got zero.” Kwame Pianim mentioned.
He urges President Mahama to prioritize the needs of teachers to prevent strikes and ensure their self-sufficiency.
Mr. Pianim called President Mahama to use his position to reset Ghana and leave a lasting legacy, emphasizing the historical opportunity for progress.
“ Mr. President, as I’ve told you before, of the 35, 36 million Ghanaians alive, you are the only one who can reset Ghana for us.” He stated.
He appealed to Presidenp’s sense of duty, suggesting that he does not need voter support or party affiliation to act in the best interest of Ghana.
“You are the right person. You don’t need the voters, you don’t need your party, do the best for Ghana and leave a legacy for us.” He urged the President.
He however made a request for a liaison person in the president’s office to address teachers’ issues directly, acknowledging the president’s busy schedule.
“ And I’ll plead with you, if you give us a liaison person in your office, one of your presidential advisors, so that when we have any problem the teachers, we can go to him, because you may be too busy.” He emphasized.
He stressed that by addressing teachers’ needs, the president can prevent them from resorting to strikes or begging for help.
