“If a good offer comes for Albert Amoah, Kotoko should sell him and cashout, Players come and go, they will find another top-quality player – Francis Akwafo

Former Asante Kotoko midfielder Francis Akwafo has advised the club to consider selling star striker Albert Amoah if a good offer comes in during the upcoming transfer window. Speaking on Kessben TV’s sports segment on Monday, Akwafo said that while Amoah has been brilliant this season, Kotoko is bigger than any individual player and must think long-term.

“If a good offer comes for Albert Amoah, Kotoko should cash out,” Akwafo said. “He has done very well, but Kotoko is a big club, if Albert goes, they can and will find another top-quality player.” He said.

Albert Amoah has been one of Kotoko’s standout performers this season. His recent hat-trick against Medeama SC at the Baba Yara Stadium cemented his place as a key figure in the Porcupine Warriors’ attacking setup. His form has reportedly attracted interest from clubs both within and outside Africa.

Akwafo, who played for Kotoko in the early 2010s, acknowledged the striker’s quality but urged the club to think strategically if a lucrative transfer opportunity arises.

Akwafo emphasized that no player is indispensable at a club like Kotoko, which has a rich history of producing and replacing top talents. He cited past examples where Kotoko successfully moved on from big-name departures and still remained competitive.

“Players come and go, but the badge remains. The club should benefit financially if the right deal is on the table, and then reinvest that money wisely,” he added.

With the season drawing to a close, speculation about Amoah’s future is likely to intensify in the coming weeks. The club’s management has yet to make any official statement regarding transfer interests in the forward, but insiders suggest that discussions about his future are already underway.
