The depreciation of the dollar has nothing to do with NDC, It’s due to the world trade-war & if it is resolved, NDC will be exposed big time – NPP Communicator, Agyei Perez

Opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) communicator, Nana Agyei Perez, has attributed the recent appreciation of the Ghanaian cedi not to the policies of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) government, but rather to global economic conditions, specifically, ongoing trade tensions among major world economies.
Speaking on Kessben FM, Perez argued that the cedi’s strength is being misinterpreted as a sign of effective governance, when in reality it is riding on the back of a weakening U.S. dollar caused by international trade disruptions.
“The truth is simple the dollar is depreciating globally because of the current world trade war, particularly the tensions between economic giants like the U.S. and China,” Perez stated. “The cedi’s recent strength has nothing to do with any policy from the NDC. If the global trade tensions are resolved tomorrow, we might see the cedi start depreciating again.”
The NPP communicator also issued a warning: should global trade relations normalize and the dollar regain strength, the Ghanaian cedi could once again come under pressure. He urged Ghanaians not to be deceived by what he described as a “temporary and external” improvement.
Both the NDC and NPP are keen to shape public opinion around who is best suited to manage the economy. While the NDC seeks to own the current wave of currency stability, opposition voices like Perez are pushing back, urging voters to look deeper than the headlines.
