What have insults brought to NPP? If we want to return to power in 2028, we should do away with politics of insults, It is against our values – Odotobri MP, Hon. Anthony Mmieh

Hon. Anthony Mmieh, Member of Parliament for Odotobri Constituency, says if the party wants to return to power in 2028, they should be devoid of insults.

Speaking on Kessben FM’s Maakye, he questioned the efficacy of insults in political discourse, stating, “What have insults brought to NPP?” He emphasized that if the party aims to return to power, it must distance itself from a culture of insults, as such behavior contradicts the party’s core values.

He stressed that insulting opponents or even members within the party only serves to tarnish the NPP’s reputation and alienate floating voters, especially the youth who are increasingly demanding a higher standard of leadership and engagement. “If we want to come back to power in 2028, then we must run a campaign devoid of insults,” he asserted.

According to the MP, the NPP has always stood for values such as discipline, respect for rule of law, and principled leadership values that should be reflected not just in policy but in everyday political communication.

Hon. Mmieh’s message serves as a timely reminder that the party’s success will depend not only on its policies but also on its adherence to the principles of decency and respect in political discourse.

By embracing these values, the NPP can foster a more inclusive and constructive political environment, ultimately strengthening its position in the upcoming electoral contest.
