President Mahama announces efforts to stave off the looming threats of power outages
President of the Republic of Ghana H.E John Dramani Mahama has emphatically announced that, through determined efforts, he can report that, his new government has averted the looming threats of power outages and began delivering fuel to the thermal plants in the east in advance of shutdown of the ‘West African Gas Pipeline’.
The energy sector is threatening it’s very survival ,already we have been work since my first day in office to tackle these problems.
“Indeed you elected us to confront and resolve such challenges. As we may all be aware , previous government did not work to ensure the smooth running of the energy sector by neglecting to arrange enough fuel to power our thermal plants.” President said.
According to President Mahama, the arrangement of fuel to power the thermal plants wad very important because of the know schedule maintenance work that was to take place on the West African Gas Pipeline, which is responsible for bringing in significant gas for thermal plants that we have in our eastern enclaves.
ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
President Mahama acknowledged and congratulated the newly appointed energy minister, Hon. John Abdulai Jinapor for his effort to and commitment to resolving some challenges in the energy sector.
TACKLING CHALLENGES IN EDUCATION ;
The President emphasized that, similar timely interventions have been necessary in areas such education where an acute food shortage was a major problem when schools ordered to be opened on third January.
“ We have put in short-term measures to ensure that our children have adequate food so they can go ahead with their learning. These are short-term measures and will help to keep our children in school even as we strategies on streamlining the supplying of food to schools and pay of areas that are old to schools, some dating from as far back as 2021.” President Mahama stated.
President Mahama made this statement today during the swearing-in of the six appointed ministers into office approved by parliament of Ghana.
