Power and Energy Ghana Expo will enhance sustainable energy to drive the economy
Power and Energy Expo have been held in the country with the participation of players in the energy value chain to network and forge partnerships to enable them be abreast with the emerging trends in the energy sector.
In an opening remark, the Chief Director at the Ministry of Energy Mrs. Wilhemina Asamoah representing the sector Minister said the Expo ties into the economic growth and development of the country and will create a common platform for technology transfer and exchange of knowledge in the power sector.
She said the Energy ministry will continue to roll out programmes and initiatives to support the sector, saying the the move forms part of the effort to address and find solutions associated with power supply.
High commissioner of India to Ghana, H.E. Shri Manish Gupta said the Expo will provide a platform for stakeholders to engage and create the needed opportunities for stakeholders and take advantage of the numerous businesses potentials in the energy space
to expand businesses.
According to him, the event will further boost energy operations as well as transform the country trades in the Sub region, adding that India continues to be 3rd largest in the world in renewable energy.
High Commissioner for UK to Ghana, Madam Harriet Thompson urged government to invest more in renewable energy pointing out that UK have done same to make companies to go off the National grid.
She thus advised government to take advantage of the discovery of lithium in the country since it will play a significant role in the energy space and job creation in the production of batteries for commercial usage.
President of GUTA, Dr. Joseph Obeng called for the expansion of the Expo to accommodate more exhibitors and works fervently to bring thousands visitors across the world on one platform.
The Project Director of the Expo, Mr. Thomas James expressed his gratitude to government and stakeholders for their commitments towards the event adding that it is geared towards building a robust energy sector.
