Samsung unveils Galaxy Z Fold special edition, its most advanced folding smartphone

On Monday, Samsung introduced an improved variant of its Z fold6 (Review)  — the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition, which is easily the most advanced foldable phone from the company. Except for the camera island, the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition looks almost similar to the Galaxy Z Fold6, its global folding flagship. However, the latest entrant is slightly lighter and thinner with several other minor upgrades, which, when combined, further enhance the overall user experience. Galaxy Z Fold special edition is slightly taller and wider than the Z Fold6. Currently available in South Korea, SamSung might expand its availability to China, and this device might not come to other markets, including India. Priced at 2,789,600 KRW or Rs 1,70,207 or $2,024, it is slightly more expensive than the Galaxy Z Fold6. However, for the money, it does pack a bit more, including a 200MP wide-angle camera, a 6.5-inch cover display, and an 8.0-inch foldable screen, making the Galaxy Z Fold special edition the biggest foldable Samsung smartphone. As per renders, the device is also expected to have a slightly less visible crease when folded.

It is still based on the same Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC with 16GB of RAM, and 512 GB storage. However, it does lose out on a few things, such as the under-display camera, support for the S-Pen, and is only available in a black shadow shade.
