Felt so sorry for Kurt Okraku- Wilson Arthur on GFA Boss’ infamous speech
Football administrator Wilson Arthur has admitted that he felt so sorry for Kurt Okraku after watching the Ghana Football Association (GFA) President’s infamous speech delivered at a Black Stars dinner before a crucial 2025 AFCON qualifier against Sudan. Ghana drew goalless in the game.
He said this in an exclusive interview with Citi Sports while discussing issues related to the Black Stars’ recent failings including Ghana suffering a 2-0 loss to Sudan in the 2025 AFCON qualifiers.
We are on our knees, trust me. Look at all that has happened to us. Sudan beating us 2-0, things are not looking good. It’s not like we don’t have players, it’s not like we are not having quality of players who can do it, they are selecting the wrong players, they (the European based Black Stars players) are not motivated.”
“I saw the video of GFA President talking to them and I felt so sorry for the man, he was speaking out of emotion and I felt so sorry. I mean he’s been pushed to do this. Was it necessary? Does he need to remind them they are playing for the nation? If it gets to that, we are in trouble.”
