Chairman of Asantehene’s HEAL KATH project committee Sammy Adu Boakye descends on Ghana Bar Association
The committee Chairman of the Asantehene’s Heal Komfo Anokye Hospital Project, Sammy Adu Boakye has descended heavily on the Ghana Bar Association.
Sammy Adu Boakye is shocked over the GBA’s seeming neglect of the clarion call to renovate Ghana’s second-largest hospital by the Asantehene.
Since the project was launched in November 2023, contributions have come from various work groups and associations coming through with support to see KATH get fully renovated into a state-of-the-art World Class Hospital. However, the GBA is still yet to respond to the call despite their recent visit to Manhyia.
Sammy Adu Boakye had this in an article he posted online.
“GBA/MY KENKEY WITHOUT FISH AT AKWASIDAE
His Majesty has done well. After Cape Coast, he still honoured the morning invitation of the bar and, to top it up, a banquet at his palace the same evening. According to some of our learnt friends, this year’s conference is one of the best ever, if not the best. On Sunday, they were given preferential treatment again at the Akwasidae. There I was with my hopes high that a fat donation was coming from them to support his majesty’s initiative, the “Heal Komfo Anokye project. After all the long talk, swerve! Eeeeiii!
At least one good turn…
In disbelief, I went with the Royal Golf Club, which has a little over 80 members, and donated 350k, which was presented to his majesty . In fact, the association of the noble profession anticipated donation was the icing on the cake to boost our fundraising drive. Jack, sometimes we must all lower our expectations… I doubt if I have eaten since yesterday.
So I decided to dig a bit further to see if there are any CSRs to their name since independence… I started smiling while surfing through the net…
Brethren, pls do the same; you may not find even KVIP for a single community in Ghana to their name.
Whereas such gestures exist with teacher groups, garages, market women, etc., I guess such humanitarian stuffs are not part of them. So we move.
These three pictures are what motivates us… Our mothers who sit in the sun, doing bodwa bodwa, pledged 50k at our launch; they came back with 220k and are still mobilising, knowing the importance of the project. These kids from a creche at Ejisu saw the need to contribute their part of 500 Cedis and the children’s ministry at living spring assemblies of God 1000.
Unfortunately the people who make the most, drive the expensive cars, with all the lavish lifestyles, did not and do not see the need to support the project.
Well do not forget, it has been established that even taxes , majority of the so called learned ones do not pay but unfortunately the loudest critics on national issues. 3to) mpo mo mp3 tua na CSR.
“They appear to think that being members of the learned profession puts them above complying with everyday civic duties like paying taxes. It is embarrassing that lawyers are often at the top of the list of those who flout our tax laws and use their expertise to avoid paying taxes,” president Nana Addo.
May I assure them that we, the downtrodden, will still go ahead and contribute to support his Majesty to bring good health to the people of Ghana and Asanteman, and should they come there, which is inevitable as humans, they will still get the preferential treatment.
In your shame, do not attempt to come and pay, that will be an afterthought…. But I pray me venting my frustration will change the narrative going forward.
Please someone buy me a dictionary, cuz they will descend on me with all the big English… Does I care…
“We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give” Winston Churchill.
Regards to you all and congratulations on your fantastic conference.
