“Ghana and Japan Cooperate through Human Resource Development”
Ghana and Japan have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthen their relations through human resource development for the mutual benefit of the two countries.
This commitment was made during a brief ceremony for the signing of Exchange of Notes for the “Project for Human Resource Development Scholarship” on Tuesday 4th June, 2024 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration.
The Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Hon. Kwaku Ampratwum-Sarpong signed on behalf of the Government of Ghana while the Ambassador of Japan to Ghana, H.E. Mr. Mochizuki Hisanobu signed for Japan.
Hon. Kwaku Ampratwum-Sarpong extended the appreciation of the Government of Ghana to the Government of Japan for the continued support in enhancing Ghana’s human resource capacity. He was hopeful that the knowledge-sharing opportunity would equip Ghanaian nationals who would benefit from the programme with additional skills needed to contribute to the development of the country.
The Ambassador of Japan to Ghana, H.E. Mr. Mochizuki Hisanobu in his remarks noted that the objective of the project which started in 2012 is to offer opportunities to highly capable young Ghanaian Government officials to pursue graduate studies in various fields which will help to actively accelerate the social and economic development of Ghana. The Ambassador reiterated Japan’s commitment to contributing to Ghana’s human resource capacity development and indicated that approximately 117 students have so far benefited from the programme this year.
