Our party ‘troubles’ will be over soon- Nana Addo

The Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Akufo-Addo, has assured his members that the recent internal wrangling over party funds will be resolved as soon as possible. According to Nana Addo, the party leadership has put in place measures to resolve the issue.
The First Vice Chairman of the NPP, Freddie Blay and the party’s treasurer, Abankwa Yeboah have been accused of diverting funds belonging to the party. The two have since denied the allegations describing the development as an attempt by rival factions in the party to destroy them. The case is currently before the Police CID pending investigations. Addressing party supporters in the Volta Region as part of the “Rise and Build” tour, Nana Addo assured members that the matter will be addressed as soon as possible.
“You know about the problems that we are having in the party at the top, they are going to be resolved, let me give you that confidence they will be resolved,” he stated. Meanwhile Nana Addo is courting the support of members at the base of the party to help secure victory in the 2016 general elections. This he said will help alleviate the plight of Ghanaians. “But then the cooperation at the base, that is what matters for our victory, all across this country there is one cry, that NPP comes back and improve things for us in the future, “But for us to be able to do so, we need to fortify our base, that is why I came here today to speak to you, Ghana and our party is bigger than each one of us,” he added. In  a related development, the Concerned NPP youth group in the Northern Region wants party member Baah Achamfuor sacked as they described his act as running contrary to the party’s constitution. The group is also appealing to National executives to be circumspect in their dealings.
