Bafana Bafana Coach Hugo Broos denies exit rumors

The Coach of South Africa, Hugo Broos has denied reports on his exit of the country’s top job. The Belgian tactician was linked with a move to Tunisia as been speculated.

Hugo Broos became the man in the dugout of South Africa after their failure to qualify for AFCON 2021 under Molefi Ntseki as he improved the Rainbow nation’s team with a stunning performance that earned them a Bronze medal during the last AFCON in Ivory Coast.

The Belgian tactician speaking after the friendly match between Algeria and South Africa denied the links. “There are no negotiations with Tunisia or any other team”. Broos said in Algeria after the 3:3 drawn game with South Africa in the FIFA friendly series.

The current Coach of South Africa was a winner of the AFCON in 2017 when he won with Cameroon in the final after defeating Egypt by 2:1. From Cameroon, he went on to win a Bronze medal for the Bafana Bafana since 2000 in Ivory Coast last month.

Hugo Broos still has a running contract with South Africa that runs till June 2026 as he will seek to return the Rainbow nation back into the Mundial for the first time since the last time they hosted the rest of the world on home soil in 2010.
