C/R: 24-year-old sentenced to 30 years imprisonment for shooting a taxi driver
A 24-year-old man identified as John Awula has been jailed for 30 years after he attempted to kill a taxi driver in Breman Esikuma in the Central Region of Ghana.
John Awula shot the taxi driver and took away his taxi but was eventually caught after investigations into the case.
The 24-year-old after taking the taxi from the taxi driver went ahead and painted the taxi differently but got caught.
The taxi driver after he was shot by John pretended to have died on the spot and thus John left him behind.
The taxi driver crawled and got help from commuters who took him to the hospital and survived.
The police started an investigation and eventually nabbed John who had been using the taxi.
He was today, Thursday, sentenced by the Mankesim Magistrate court to 30 years imprisonment.
