E/R: Thieves steal area transformer, community plunged in darkness for days (Video)
The residents of Mempemehoasem near Akyem Asene in the Eastern Region of Ghana have been plunged into darkness over the last few days after the area’s electric transformer was stolen.
According to a report filed by Kessben FM’s Reporter Antwi Bosiako on Breaking News, the thieves stole the transformer around 3 am last Sunday.
When the lights went off the residents of the community thought it was the usual power outage but were dismayed to find out the following morning that the area transformer was removed from the transmission pole.
The thieves took away all the necessities in the transformer and left the transformer container on the ground.
