Appointing new CJ way to go, We can’t wait for the finality of former Justice Torkonoo’s case before appointing new Justice – Akuoko Frimpong

Former District Chief Executive (DCE) for Sekyere Central, Akuoko Frimpong, has stated that the government cannot afford to delay the appointment of a new Chief Justice while waiting for finality on matters concerning former Chief Justice Gertrude Torkonoo.
Speaking on Kessben FM, Mr. Frimpong emphasized that the judicial system must continue to function efficiently, and any prolonged vacancy in the position of Chief Justice could disrupt the administration of justice.
He described the vetting of Justice Bonnie as the right step forward, adding that the process reflects the government’s commitment to ensuring continuity and stability within the judiciary.
“We can’t wait for finality on the issues surrounding the former Justice Torkonoo before we act. The vetting of Justice Bonnie is the way to go,” Mr. Frimpong asserted.
He further urged the public to support the vetting process and maintain confidence in the nation’s judicial institutions as the transition unfolds.
