Residents of Manso Watreso contract syphilis from small-scale mining

Senior nurse of Manso Watereso CHPS COMPOUND in Amansie South of the Ashanti Region Mrs. Rose Ziafe Ephraim has revealed an outbreak of syphilis due to small-scale mining.

She indicated that outsiders from other communities frequently participate in Small-scale mining operations, destroying and polluting local water sources as they labor and bathe there, which spreads the syphilis virus easily.

Mrs. Rose Ziafe Ephraim is pleading with the government to intervene.

She added that residents should exercise caution and take preventative measures to avoid contracting the syphilis disease.
