Government is doing well in Cocoa farming – DCE, Sekyere Kumawu, Addai Agyekum

The district chief executive of Kumawu in Ashanti Region, Samuel Addai Agyekum has commended the government for the increment in the price of Cocoa.

He made this statement following an announcement by the president of Ghana which has held in Tepa on 9th, September 2023.

According to him, it is a good thing for the president to recognize and appreciate Cocoa farmers for their good works.

Speaking on Kessben 93.3 FM’s Maakye, he eulogized cocoa farmers for working tirelessly to contribute to making Ghana one of the best cocoa producers in the world.
“Despite the struggles in cocoa farming, they are also engaged in other crops farming,” he said.
He emphasized on government’s efforts to improve cocoa farming in the country.

He therefore appealed to the government to initiate a Cocoa pension scheme which will be an allowance for farmers who will be retiring.
