Black Stars touch down in Kumasi for Central Africa Republic clash
The Black Stars have arrived in Kumasi for the final Group E Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Central African Republic on Thursday.
Chris Hughton’s men are set for a final showdown at the Baba Yara Sports stadium against the Central Africans for a place in next January’s Africa Cup of Nations in Cote D’Ivoire.
Twenty-four players travelled to the Garden City – with only South Africa based Richard Ofori being the only the absentee as he is expected to join the team Tuesday evening.
Ghana are in need of a win to make their 10th straight Africa Cup of Nations finals following nine consecutive appearances since 2006.
The players in camp include:
Goalkeepers: Lawrence Ati Zigi, Abdul Manaf Nurudeen
Defenders: Alidu Seidu, Kingsley Schindler, Stephan Ambrosius, Joseph Aidoo, Alexander Djiku, Nicholas Opoku, Baba Abdul Rahman, Gideon Mensah
Midfielders: Abdul Samed-Salis, Baba Iddrisu, Edmund Addo, Andre Ayew, Elisha Owusu, Mohammed Kudus, Ransford Konigsdorffer
Forwards: Inaki Williams, Antoine Semenyo, Ernest Nuamah, Osman Bukari, Joseph Painstil, Jonathan Sowah
The team will train at the Baba Yara Sports stadium at 4pm on Tuesday in readiness for the game.
Ghana sit at the top of the Group E table with 9 points from 5 games having won two and drawn three games in the Group.
